Another detention

Soon after coming to Hebron, we saw a young Palestinian man surrounded by soldiers, one of whom was holding his ID. According to the man, he was detained for two hours.

The soldiers refused to answer why they were holding him, and one of them told me that one of his soldier friends is "crazy", his friend saying then that his backpack is a machine gun*.

The soldiers pushed us away when we tried to talk to him. They held him for at least 20 minutes while we were there. Eventually, they gave his ID back and let him go.

Another normal occurrence in Hebron, an everyday reality of the occupation.

This is the same soldier who tortured our Palestinian friend a few weeks ago, and said his friend is "crazy". A few days ago he learned my first name, now whenever he sees me, he always calls me by it and asks me for a high five. Sometimes he also blows me kisses. He also harasses other ISMers.
