Attack on a Palestinian boy

At around 5:30 this afternoon, a soldier manning a checkpoint outside the window of our apartment walked up to Abdullah Abu Eishe, a 16 year old Palestinian boy who was on a bicycle, and headbutted him in the head, and then hit him in the stomach. The boy jumped off his bike and hit the soldier back, after which he and the soldier swore at each other. The soldier began chasing him, so he jumped on his bike and rode away. Soldiers then began asking other boys in the area where their friend went.

The incident was described to us by a shopkeeper who witnessed the events. As the soldier who attacked they boy walked away, one of his friends made a "peace sign" and then a devil's horn with his fingers, before sticking up the middle one.

A while later, the boy showed up with his uncle, who angrily spoke to the soldiers. They laughed at him, but he managed to stop and talk to the driver of a Border Police jeep. The driver spoke to the soldiers sympathetically, then listened to the uncle, and told him that the police will arrive in five minutes. After almost an hour had passed, Abdullah and his uncle left. The police vehicle never arrived.
