Badee Dwaik, from Human Rights Defenders, takes video of the Border Police, who are protecting Israeli settlers. Initially, only a few showed up.
The owner of the house talking to police and Border Police, asking them to get the settlers to leave.
The Border Police made it very clear who they were here to protect, and pushed us back several times.
There was one police officer who was also taking photos of the settlers. I think he realized how wrong and illegal this was.
As more settlers showed up, so did more bodyguards.
Settler kids walking towards the house.
Palestinian kids watching yet another family being harassed with total impunity.
Badee Dwaik talking to Border Police, who pushed him back also.
A TIPH car. The observers were completely useless, staying in their vehicle the entire time, like they always do. Their response will be to write a report, which will be seen only by the Israeli government, and the Palestinian Authority.
One of the settler leaders taking pictures of us with his phone.
Settler young adults playing a guitar and singing, on the property of the family they hope to evict.
The head of the family occupied the Palestinian kids and youth by leading them in Muslim recitations.
The settlers started clapping loudly and dancing and shouting.
Good morning. Some of the settlers lie in their sleeping bags, as others do embroidery.
Forgiveness: it is needed so much here, and it will be needed even more when one day the occupation ends.
Videos
Israeli Border Police guarding the settlers as they illegally camp out on Palestinian property. They pushed us and Palestinian activists back, but let more and more of them show up.
Discussion with the settlers. One of them told me to "go to Syria". How the atrocities there justify his actions in Hebron is something he did not elaborate on.
Palestinian kids reciting Muslim prayers. The man who led them did this in part to keep them from allowing themselves to be provoked by the settlers.
Settlers dancing and shouting.
