In the first case, a young man was arrested near Shuhada Street, after soldiers claimed he swore at them and assaulted them. The soldiers making the arrest noticed his leg was hurting, so they sat him down and offered him some of their water. His parents came, and they spoke to them respectfully. The young man was claiming they took him out of their house, they were claiming he attacked them on the street. His parents invited us over for coffee, but did not ask us to intervene.

The second event occurred a few hours later. A Palestinian man near Tel Rumeida, where we live, was stopped by a soldier and asked for ID. The soldier took it and put it in his pocket, not even looking at it. He made the young man stand for an hour, as he did other things, like talking to his friends and sitting down and relaxing. The young man was afraid there was going to be more trouble for him, so he did not ask us to intervene. He allowed us to take photos of both the soldiers and him.
